Night Shift Feed Mill Technician

The Maschhoffs, the largest independent pork producer in the U.S., is looking for a full-time Night Shift Feed Mill Technician for our Feed Mill in Gothenburg, NE.
Job Overview:
This position will be responsible for general housekeeping and custodial duties at a Maschhoff Feed Mill along with assisting the on duty Operator from time to time in the manufacturing of complete feeds. The technician will follow company Standard Operating Procedures to ensure the mill is kept in a clean state of operation, perform routine maintenance tasks, assist with repair projects, follow company prescribed safety protocols, and other daily tasks as directed by the Mill Management team.
Job Duties & Accountabilities
Typical Duties of the Feed Mill Technician:
Housekeeping and Maintenance:
General Housekeeping duties to ensure the mill is kept in a clean, dust free manner including the grounds surrounding the mill.
Daily, weekly, and monthly routine preventative maintenance tasks including greasing
bearings, checking gear boxes, inspection/tightening of belts, etc.
Assist in repair and maintenance projects with the maintenance staff.
Feed Manufacturing:
Assist the Feed Mill Operator as required to maximize the efficiency of the mill. These duties could include:
Filling micro ingredient boxes. Ingredient bin clean out. Addressing ingredient flow issues.
Bagging of complete feeds.
Receive training from the Mill Operator on the operation of the manufacturing equipment.
Loading of complete feeds onto trucks.
Ensure that company safety practices are adhered to.
Inventory Control:
Receiving of ingredients into the mill both bulk and bagged.
Proper grading of ingredients received.
Assist in grain and ingredient bin clean out.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma is required.
Experience
1-3 years in agriculture or related field is required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of:
General maintenance techniques.
General understanding of mechanical equipment.
Skill in:
Following oral and written communications.
Time management.
Organizational skills.
Attention to detail.
Customer service.
Ability to:
Follow verbal/written instructions.
Work both independently and in a team environment to accomplish goals.
Desire to learn new skills and technology systems.
