Rolling up a cable onto a cable drum may appear rather straight forward but is far more challenging if you accurately aim to predict residual forces adding up from weight and acceleration, friction, roll-up tension and cable characteristics. In addition offshore environmental loads will apply as well. A filled cable drum in this context may have a total weight of 450 ton and cable cross sections are ranging from simple to very complex with a weight up to 100 kg/m.
- Establish a theoretical model and solver for the forces acting on the drum.
-Develop an Excel or Matlab based solver application and verify by means of FEM.
- Provide a far more accurate method compared to traditional hand calculations, still easy to use, for dimensioning of loads acting on a case to case cable drum composition.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
